(Lulz. I wanted it to sound like a real Pokemon episode title. X3;)
Angelo walked into the Contest Hall, looking around at all the other people waiting to sign up. They were talking to their Pokemon, grooming them, trying on little bows and such. The clothing personally disturbed Angelo. The most he would ever put on his Pokemon was maybe a small silk scarf. He walked over to a more or less secluded corner of the room and took out Buizel. He put Horsea beside her and crouched down to be at eye level with the two of them. "Alright, this is my first contest. I can only enter one of you, so I wanted to know if either of you actually want to do it." He said. ~I think it would be kind of fun,~ Horsea trilled. Angelo nodded and turned to Buizel. "What about you?" Buizel hesitated before answering. ~It would depend on what a contest is.~ She said simply. Angelo sighed and began to explain. "A Pokemon Contest is when a coordinator uses one of his Pokemon to, well, coordinate moves into beautiful shows. That's in the first round. In the second round, the coordinators battle each other. The order of the battles and who'll battle who is decided at random. The coordinator who wins in every battle he or she is in, and made a good enough appeal in the first round, wins." ~Oh. Uh... I guess I could do it...~ Buizel replied. "Alright. Buizel, you'll be my contest Pokemon." Angelo said, standing up. "Horsea, you'll have to wait here. There are screens, so you'll be able to watch what I'm doing." He gestured to the television screens in the corners of the ceiling. Horsea nodded. Angelo nodded back and walked up to the counter with Buizel. "I'd like to sign up for the contest." He said to the woman standing behind the counter.

The lady behind the counter nodded. "OK, could you tell me which Pokemon you'll be using, and hand over your Pokedex for a second, for identification, please." she explained, turning around to face a comuter screen, readying it to scan through the 'dex.

Angelo reached into his pocket and drew out his 'Dex, handing it to the woman. "I'll be using Buizel." He said.

The lady smiled. "Thanks. I'll just scan this through, and..." She muttered, swiping the Pokedex. A little Bloop sounded, and Angelo's details popped up on the computer screen. The lady clicked the mouse and pressed a few keys, and a little bar came up, labeled 'Registering...' The lady jolted, remembering something. "Oh, right! You're new, so here's your ribbon case!" She said, rumaging around in a drawer before bringing out a little case. It was pale blue with a tiny snowflake symbol on the front. "I think that should be suitable." The lady winked.
Ping! Angelo's infomation had finished registering. The lady handed him back his 'dex, reading his name off the screen. "Good luck, Angelo and Buizel!"

"Thank you." Angelo said, taking the case. It was nice, obviously made of a very durable and beautiful material, probably some kind of metal judging by how cold it was. Or maybe that was just Angelo. Literally. He actually would have preferred a Suicune, but a snowflake was fine too.
He looked around and remembered something. "Ah, when is the contest, specifically? The posters outside only said it was today, not the exact time." He asked.

The lady glanced at the clock. "Oh, wow! You were just in time! The contest should start in about one hour! Here, my station should be closed right now, so I'll show you through to the dressing rooms." She gasped, shepherding Angelo into a room.
There was a mirror, a table littered with make-up, and two wardrobes packed full to bursting with various clothes. A pretty lady in a dainty dress was standing inside, shuffling her feet and checking her watch. The first lady left, and she, noticing Angelo, grinned broadly. "Your first time, eh? Let me explain. It's free to use any of the human costumes and stage make-up, but it'll cost you various amounts to buy some clothes for your Buizel." She explained, walking over to a wardrobe. She opened it up, and a few miniture items of clothing fell out. She held up a glittering crystal snowflake Pokemon brooch. "I believe you like water and ice types. Well, this would be perfect, no? Just 50 Kusa, 100 if you want to buy the matching hat and socks!" She advertised, displaying an icey blue sock with an identical print. The hat she also held up was a small cap with slits for ears, again with the snowflake print.

Angelo cringed. "I may like Water and Ice type Pokemon, but a snowflake print would suit an Ice type, not a Water type like Buizel. Besides, how would I put the brooch on? It's not like I can pin it to her fur. And do I look like I need a costume?" He said, gesturing to his blue tuxedo. Buizel stared at the clothes with a critical eye. ~Um... You're not actually going to put any of that on me, are you?~ She said, tugging on Angelo's pant leg. "Hell no." Angelo replied, looking at his most recently caught Pokemon.
(Please excuse Angelo's minor language.)

The lady raised one eyebrow. "O...K... maybe not, then." She said, checking her watch.
On time, music started playing in the distance. "Hi, I'm your host for today! Now, let's give a warm welcome to our first contestant, Erika Fisher!" A cheery voice yelled. A TV screen in that room flickered into life, displaying a teenage girl commanding her Spheal to freeze its Bubble attack.
The lady gasped. "Oh, my! You'd better go through to the lounge! In case you didn't already know, you're contestant number 5!" She cried, showing Angelo out into the contestant's lounge. A group of nervous coordinators were all starting fixedly at a screen.

"Ah- What-" Angelo had no time to speak as he was ushered into the coordinator's lounge. He looked around. The other coordinators were obviously nervous, several were fiddling with a Pokeball or fidgeting in their seats. "Guess I better think up an act for Buizel." He muttered, then checked Buizel's available attacks on the Pokedex. "Sonicboom... Growl... Water Sport... Quick Attack... And Water Gun. Not much to work with." Angelo sighed. "This is going to be difficult."

The coordinators all continued to huddle. The first contestant got a thundering round of applause. One coordinator, like Angelo, was struggling to think of a routine at the last minute. His Vulpix tried many different combos, each at various levels of cuteness. He walked over to Angelo, leaving Vulpix to practice alone. "Hey, my name's Munako. You know, if your Buizel used Water Sport to create a rain effect, and Water Gun for a fountain..." He introduced himself, his voice trailing off as his creative mind thought of long-winded combo moves.

Angelo stared at the boy who'd approached him. "And?" He said, rather irritated.

"And nothing, I was just trying to help. Gow and keep struggling, see if I care." Munako said, walking back over to his Vulpix, who then perfomed a beautiful display of agility surrounded by mini fireworks.

Angelo muttered something about Fire trainers under his breath, then continued planning out an act for Buizel. Hmm... He had a point about the rain effect, though... If only Buizel had an Ice attack. Too bad I don't have enough time to go out and buy a TM. Or... It was a crazy and stupid idea, but Angelo was willing to try it. He took out some of his Kusa, enough to hopefully buy a TM, and gave it to Buizel. She looked at the money, then at him, a quizzical expression on her face. "I need you to go out into town and get a TM for an Ice attack, preferably Blizzard, then come back here, as fast as you can." Angelo said. Hey, I said it was crazy, didn't I? Buizel hesitated for a moment, then hugged the Kusa close to her so she wouldn't lose any of it and darted out of the room. Angelo clutched his pendant and prayed she would get back with enough time for him to use the TM on her.

Contestant number Two came and went. As Contestant Number Three stepped onto the stage, Buizel at last darted smoothly towards Angelo, holding the TM. 1000 Kusa was gone, used to buy the TM Blizzard.

"Thank Arceus," Angelo said, taking the disc. He pressed it to Buizel's forehead, and a whitish-blue aura surrounded her. The color slowly drained from the disc, until it was a dull gray. Angelo tossed it into a nearby waste basket and proceeded to go over the act he'd thought up. By the time it was Angelo's turn, he'd finished explaining the act and Buizel was ready.
