Name
Iñigo Sancho Asesino
Nickname
El Conquistador, a name conjured by his schoolmates who absolutely feared him.
Age
20
Gender
Male
Appearance
Iñigo is a middleweight yet tall man with short jet-black hair and a decent tan for his age. He wields noticably large brown eyes characterized by thick eyebrows, giving him an intimidating appearance. His mouth looks like it was made especially for scowling at his enemies, and there didn't appear to be too many smiles under his belt. Above his lips is a thin black mustache in a downward curve, as if to match his signature expression.
His choice of wardrobe usually involves dark aggressive colors, like red and black. Typically, he wears a solidly colored deep red shirt exposed in the open middle of his midnight-black jacket. He also wears an analog watch on his left hand, normally hidden by the sleeve of his jacket, the hands of which were made to resemble jalapeño peppers. He wears jeans of a black denim, along with a black belt and bronze buckle. His equally dark-colored shoes are always kept shining clean, a trait that almost contradicts his shadowy nature.
He also carries an eerie scar all across his left cheek, a symbol of the many fights he had gotten into as a kid. The scar begins at the top of his chin and extends up towards his ear in a very straight line, acompanied by a companion scar across the top of his left ear. The injury was from a knife which he had barely failed to dodge during one of the more notable scuffles of his lifetime. It was the very same conflict in which he sent his opponent to the emergency room. Both fighters were only 11 at the time.
Personality
Iñigo is not very easy to get along with. His idea of friendship is doing exactly as he tells you whenever he wants to without asking any questions. If you made even the most trivial of mistakes, you couldn't count to two before he was all over you. And in this way, his only real friends, namely the people he spent the most time with, were his worst enemies.
He is a very aggressive chap who is always looking for an excuse to get into a fight. His confidence gives him the ability to challenge anyone regardless of first impression. He will not accept defeat at all, and if there is any good quality about him, it's his determination. He takes his losses seriously and makes sure, through vigorous training, that he corrects all his mistakes, and once that is finished he hunts down the lucky winner and beats him to a pulp.
His selfishness extends to his thoughts as well. He loathes anyone who has a different point of view than him, (often using that as a reason to start a fight) and hates being proved wrong. As a result, he is very stubborn in a verbal argument and will refuse to accept a loss. Such a loss in a verbal argument tends to become more of a physical one...
Aggressiveness aside, he still thinks before he acts. His battle strategies are configured to exploit all of the enemy's weaknesses and defend well against all of their strengths. When leading a gang of people or a group of Pokemon, he is a very efficient leader and, if it wasn't for his bitterness, he'd probably have a lot of charisma. He loves to confuse his foes by appearing to perform one action but "changing his mind" at the last second.
History
Iñigo grew up in Spain, where his family was always very short on money. He would occasionally steal small things from other people or stores that he could have used, such as small fruits or small amounts of cash. Over the years he became pretty good at stealing things like that undetected. Usually, his pickpocketing would get him into fights. Iñigo rarely fought with anything but his hands, and usually this proves disadvantegous as his challengers sometimes wielded knives. He became decent at dodging knife swings and other weapons.
At the age of ten, Iñigo had accidentally wandered into territory claimed by a pack of Poochyena on his way home from school. The canines threatened him with growling and the usual protective signs, but Iñigo was not intimidated. He gave a mean look of his own and took a threatening step towards the pack. Something about his disposition made them all run off; perhaps the pack as a whole was actually rather cowardly? But a single Poochyena remained. Their eyes met, and a strange sensation came across the two of them. Iñigo loosened up quite a lot--it may have had something to do with the submissive glare of the pooch--and smirked at it. Then the Poochyena followed him back home.
Technically, that was his first Pokemon. He felt a lot more content with it around. Now he was able to participate in Pokemon battles as well as human ones. When people noticed his Poochyena, some of them chose to challenge him to Pokemon battles in place of mano-a-mano brawls. He had trained the Poochyena just as roughly as he trained himself, and he rarely lost a fight with it. He would wait out the first few rounds of the battle as Poochyena weaved in and out of enemy attacks, intentionally getting as close as possible without making contact, and then retaliated suddenly and without warning with a powerful attack that would usually either knock the foe out instantaneously or set up for a series of non-stop unblockable hits.
Iñigo lived this tough-guy life all throughout school. If someone made the mistake of messing with him once, they would think twice before trying it again. However, there was one incident where his victims had had enough. An improvised gang of about five or six kids ambushed him on his way home one day and took him by surprise. One of them opened by punching Iñigo in the jaw, and the others surrounded him instantly. Most of the rebels were fighting by hand, and Iñigo used his previous fight experience to artfully dodge almost all swings, while keeping his hands in his pockets. One kid brandished a knife, however, and he was unable to notice before the steel came shining at his face. He tilted his body to the right, but the knife still caught him in the cheek and across his ear. Instant scar. Enraged, he sicced his Poochyena on the lot, who jumped up and bit the arm of the knife-wielder. Iñigo picked up the dropped knife and that gave him the advantage from there on. He had hacked up the original owner pretty bad, whose comrades watched with horror from the sidelines. (Iñigo made sure his attacks were not lethal, but he still lusted for blood.) They all fled when Iñigo felled his foe with the final revenge shot. Then he pocketed the knife and calmly walked home with his Pokemon.
Needless to say, this got him into a lot of trouble. He was able to argue effectively his case that the whole thing was merely in self-defense, so he avoided super-heavy punishment. The kid that owned the knife was still alive and was recovering in the hospital. Iñigo's injury was stitched up, but was relatively fine. He was never challenged again (with exception to the occasional Pokemon battle), and good thing, too, because he was already skating on thin ice.
By age 20, he was a lot more calm about things and his fights were mostly Pokemon-oriented. After four years of working in a boring and pointless convenience store, he read about a distant land called Satori, a place where Pokemon were plentiful and a primary part of life. He considered his options carefully, thinking about his experiences as a Pokemon Trainer (unofficial or not) and the battles he had in the past. He then remembered the excitement he felt, training a Pokemon and leading it to victory in countless matches. He then decided that he would travel to Satori and start a new life as a Pokemon Trainer. (After much internal debate, he also decided that it was best for him to leave his Poochyena with his family to keep them company while he was gone.)
Chosen Path
Trainer.
Anything Else?
His native language is Spanish, but he is fluent in English. Occasionally he will replace an English word with a Spanish expression, but for the most part, aside from his accent, his English is well enough to communicate normally.
